Laima published his first book, "I’m breathing Fire!" at the age of 27 to much critical acclaim. He won almost every major prize for children’s literature in Taiwan, and has had three books taken the top spot on the Eslite Annual Bestseller List for picture books. He and his wife ran a picture book gallery in Taitung, and had regularly hosted interactive events for children from all over Taiwan. His works have been adapted into musicals and his artwork have been made into various products.
